Designs: Jorge�s design style is clean and refined. He specializes in appealing to large audiences by combining timeless style elements, fresh forms, and polished looks.
Accomplishments: As Zocalo�s head designer for over six years, Jorge is the creative force behind the company�s design success. He is responsible for more than 200 product launches from ten collection introductions, including Zocalo�s best-selling Sterling Park. Jorge�s product designs have been recognized in many publications, including Furniture Today and the "Best of High Point" in InFurniture, as well as featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
Inspiration: For Jorge, creative inspiration is found in the subtle details of his surrounding environment. From larger projects like architectural designs and general urban decor, to smaller, unassuming sources like costumes in a movie or pages in a magazine, his ideas are fueled by anything that stimulates his eye.
History: Jorge was born in Boston, Mass. and grew up in Cali, Colombia. He received his bachelor�s degree in industrial design from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. He also studied mechanical engineering at State University of New York in Buffalo.
