"When designing a piece of furniture, I think about how a customer will use it in their daily rituals, I want to make their experiences as enjoyable as possible."

Designs: Margaret blends style and everyday usability to create furniture for real people. She considers how a consumer will actually use each piece in their home, not just how it will look on a showroom floor. From the way a cabinet door opens to the way a chair sits, each design not only looks great, but also works for the end user.
Accomplishments: Since Margaret started designing for Zocalo in 2003, she has developed a variety of popular collections, including the innovative teen brand Z Generation?, the award winning Elevation collection?, and the Art Deco inspired Revelle collection?. Margaret?s product designs have been featured in numerous publications, including the Oakland Tribune, Furniture Style, Furniture Today, Home Decor Buyer, and the cover of Kids Today.
Inspiration: From art openings to the latest architectural innovations, and from fashion runways to the newest musical acts, Margaret is inspired by a variety of creative communities. She keeps her finger on the pulse of the diverse and often global reaching artistic groups that surround her in San Francisco, allowing her to generate design ideas for all genres and styles of furniture.
History: Margaret is from Huntington Beach, Calif. and made the move to San Francisco in 1999 where she received her bachelor?s degree of fine arts in furniture design from the California College of the Arts.
